Togetherness
is Strength.

Ní neart go cur le chéile

A grassroots, non-profit organization, Celtic Heritage Festival Savannah is powered by volunteers from our city’s arts, culture, entertainment, business, and educational communities. Everyone involved is deeply committed to enhancing the Quality of
Life in our great city and region. If our mission speaks to you, please know that we welcome your participation, whether as an individual, a family, a business, or an organization or group.
Our goal is to cooperate with and complement the many Irish, Scots-Irish, and Celtic initiatives and traditions that already distinguish Savannah. The inspiration for our efforts has been the wonderful legacy of Tara Feis, which ran for 26 years, attracting, each year, thousands of native Savannahians and visitors to Emmet Park on the weekend before our city’s internationally-famous St. Patrick’s Day Parade. (That festival fell victim to deep cuts in the city’s arts budget.)
Our purpose is not to recreate Tara Feis, but rather to honor its work by providing, in the calendar slot it once occupied, a world-class arts and cultural experience — one that is lively and diverse; inclusive and family-friendly. We believe that a new Celtic celebration in this legacy time-slot will further enrich Savannah’s “St. Patrick’s Season,” which always gets off to a superb start thanks to the Savannah Irish Festival.

Looking to the future, our hope is that, year after year, we’ll bring together community and international talent — from the domains of music, theater, and dance; crafts, food, and sports — to deliver to Savannah, just days before the annual parade, an enjoyable and inspiring Celtic-themed “féile” (the Irish-language word for a festive gathering). Again: we invite you to join us in the spirit of the old Irish saying, “togetherness is strength.”
